The strange world of jeans

Finding fitting jeans is a nightmare just like finding underwear for most girls, and it truly is for me. I don’t know who or what models for these product, but it’s not girls like me. Anyway my all time favorite jeans died with no change of revival, so I was doomed to seek new paths. Clever as I am, I crabbed the name, model and size of jeans and went online. And thank good Smartgirl you became my saviour both in finding new jeans PLUS saving me from being forced to visit numerous bestseller stores in hope that this one would have this exact model in store now.

Result: I bought two pair of jeans, bloody cheap and a really nice deal. Same brand, same model but different wash and different size (27/34 + 28/34). But this is where is becomes interesting…

I get the jeans and exited as a kid on christmas morning, I strip down to try them. Tight but I get them on and as any girl know new jeans or newly washed jeans, can be a bit tight to fit, but it is human necessary in order for them to be tight sexy jeans. The hard task of being a girl. Back on track, I fearsomely notice that the pair of jeans I just struggled to fit into was the size 28/34, the big pair – OMG and WTF how am I suppose to fit into the other pair which was the cool wash… My long lost pair was 27/34 and I hadn’t gained weight. BUT then magic happened and I slipped right into the smaller pair. Great, but weird what was going on. I think I must have checked the labels 10.000 times, but I hadn’t mistaken. Same brand, same model but weird weird sizes.

What’s the essence of this long story, well nothing except size doesn’t matter 😉

Product retargeting

Have you ever been stalked by a product you spotted while browsing the world wide web? Product retargeting is on one hand cool and effective and on the other scary and ignoring, and I personally have a love/hate relationship to it… Product retargeting have two potential effects as I see it.

  1. “Oh yes that dress is so pretty, maybe I should buy it anyway, and now I have the money, thanks for the reminder Product retargeting.”
OR
  1. “I’ve already decided NOT to buy the dress, that’s why I left your store WITHOUT buying it, so stop showing me the fricking dress product retargeting”
Which one are you, 1 or 1???
Yes it is intentional that they are both marked 1, because both are equally plausible. Plus WP didn’t allow me to continue numbering after OR. There might be a third option now I come to think of it. “I’m too oblivious to have paid attention to what products I have looked at and don’t recall any banners on any sites.”

Try go to www.smartguy.dk, www.smartgirl.dk or www.smartkids.dk and pay attention the creatives on different sites the next couple of weeks.

Non techy definition of product retargeting: Some websites register which product you look at in their shop and track time spent on that product and last product seen. With this information they can then show you creatives that present exactly these products to lure you back into their store and complete the purchase you skipped to complete the first time around.

The techy version is available on demand.

Robert et Louise en Paris

Pardon my french, or the non-existence. But Robert et Louise is an absolutely must visit restaurant when ever in Paris, which happens far to rarely. Facebook is a perfect place to get traveltips on sights and restaurants when you are going somewhere, and everytime someone asks about Paris my answers the same:

Robert et Louise

Don’t be fooled by the last decade looking website, these are artist and online presence is not important. This place is perfect located in the heart of Marais and is as authentic Paris as it gets. From the lightening, to the decoration, to the all time father strictly waiting the table, to the marvelous taste of food and wine. Mmmm one can only dream the road goes through Paris again soon.

Hot tips: Remember to book in advance and to orders theirs Côte de bæuf!

My new hero – David Thorne

David Thorne is my new hero. I don’t do celebetes, I don’t spot them, can’t remember the names, and generally just don’t follow the trends and gossip. So Davis Thorne is all new to, and he was introduced to me through a wise man and his facebook status update. LOL might be a tween stupid chat expression, but I was literally laughing out load and instantly had to share it with close friends I knew would share the humor. That said, I NEVER laugh out load and especially not alone, but David Thorne is just spot on provocative black humor presented in a brilliant way that shows his high intelligence.  I was lucky to find the book in the bookshelf at home, but if you don’t have it I highly recommend you get it.

David Thorne “The Internet is a Playground”

The ones that got me hooked was “Overdue Accounts” where he tries to pay his outstanding amount with a drawing of a Spider. You need to read some of his stuff, I’m luckily going away on a long weekend Thursday, and I plan to work through the entire book, ignoring all other guests by laughing loudly.
